Ice Cold Bastard: A Fake Dating Grumpy-Sunshine Hockey Romance

Jake Falcone is a grumpy PR nightmare in an NHL jersey.

They call him "The Dragon" because he burns through everything in his path—coaches, teammates, and the kind of women who think they can change him.

My job at Magnificent Bastard Fake Dating is to put out fires. I’m the cool-headed professional who’s supposed to stand by his side, look pretty for the cameras, and convince the league he’s not a liability.

But from our first "fake" touch, I’m the one in over my head. Beneath the scowl, the Dragon is a man who sees right through my Madison Avenue armor.

And I like it. I like it way too much...

THE DRAGON:

I didn't get to the pros by being a "nice guy." I got here by being the bastard from the neighborhood who hit harder than anyone else.

So when my agent hires a high-society handler to play the part of my devoted fiancée, I’m ready to hate her on principle.

I expect a princess who’s afraid to get her hands dirty. Instead, I get a woman with eyes that tell me she’s survived her own kind of hell.

Our "relationship" is a lie to save my career, but the way my blood rushes when she’s close is the furthest thing from pretend. The world thinks she’s my PR fix, but I’m starting to think she’s my everything.

Now I just have to protect her from an ex who’s determined to destroy anyone in my orbit—and prove that when it comes to the people I love, I’m still the most dangerous player on the ice.
