Laura Shepherd, who writes as L.J. Shepherd, is the British author of The Trials of Lila Dalton and the forthcoming One of Your Number (2026). After graduating from Christ Church, Oxford, with a degree in English Literature, Shepherd pursued a career in law and has prosecuted and defended in many jury trials in the Crown Court. She is now a human-rights barrister instructed in high-profile public inquiries. Shepherd lives in Cardiff with her rescue cat, Coral.

Olivia is a voiceover artist and actor working across theatre, TV, radio and audiobooks. Her recent theatre credits include A Single Man, The Meeting, Ugly Lies the Bone, Wolf Hall. Her TV and film credits include Doc Martin, Call the Midwife, Grantchester and Benediction. Olivia’s recent audiobook narration credits include Hannah Peck's The River Thief, The Lyndon Sisters series by Julia Quinn, Skysong by C.A.Wright and Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace.
