3.75⭐️ I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this one still, but I did find it to be a cute and quick read. I think I would have preferred eyeball reading over listening to the audiobook. While the narrator did a great job, it just didn’t pull me in and I found that I got easily distracted when I would be listening to it. As for the storyline, I started to enjoy it more once Sage made her way to Skye. There, she runs into Theo and they start to spend time together. I found Theo to be sweet, charming and thoughtful. The banter between them was cute and you did see their chemistry well. However, Sage would constantly overthink and had a knack for self-sabotaging. While I did understand where she was coming from, it was a lot and had me getting a little annoyed with her character at times. I did like seeing her personal growth by the end of the story and it made me wish we got this in first person over third. Thank you so much to Macmillan Audio for an ALC 💕 What to expect: -Celebrity romance -Actor x author -He falls first -Scotland getaway -3rd person POV

Thank you Macmillan Audio for the free gift! This story follows an author struggling with burnout who unexpectedly gets tangled up in a mistaken-identity scandal with a rising actor, an encounter that sets both of them on a path neither planned for. What begins as an inconvenient misunderstanding slowly unfolds into something deeper, but both Sage and Theo have personal challenges to face before either can decide what they really want. I thought this was really well done. The drama felt grounded and believable, and even the third-act breakup, usually my least favorite trope, made sense here. The chemistry between Sage and Theo was genuinely enjoyable, and I appreciated that the spicy scenes were focused on their emotional connection rather than just checking boxes for an adult romance. Their flaws and insecurities were compelling on their own, and I loved how the story showed them helping each other grow while also giving each character space to work through things individually. Georgina Sadler’s narration was another highlight. Her voice suited the cast perfectly, nothing felt exaggerated, and she captured the emotional undercurrent of every moment. This was my first Kate Dramis book, and based on how much I enjoyed this one, I’m definitely interested in reading more of her work. If you like contemporary romances with realistic emotional stakes, believable conflict, and characters who grow in meaningful ways, this one is an excellent pick.

I have to admit that I almost gave up on this one early on. I think I listened to the first three or four chapters multiple times, because it wasn't holding my attention and my mind kept wandering. I'm glad I stuck with it though, because it rapidly got better. I liked both Sage and Theo, even though Theo could be a whiney, entitled famous actor at times. I'm not sure if he was really as helpless as he seemed, or if it was just an act to engage with Sage more. Their chemistry was great and the banter between them was wonderful. They met on a plane and she gets mistaken for his girlfriend, which causes all sorts of havoc. Their relationship was a slow burn, and it was lovely. If you start this book, stay with it. It's worth it in the end! I listened to the audio version of this book narrated by Georgina Sadler. The narration was also great, even if I doubted it for the first couple of chapters. Thanks to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the audio. All thoughts are my own.
