AI puts you off somewhat as the narration comes across emotionless and flat Book 1 was free. I then purchased the 2nd willingly. On the whole, the story was good but jumped so far into the future that I found myself forgetting completely the original book. it needed a reference to remind me of the main characters that were carried through such as the baddies!!! It needed depth and reference, building drama. The same for the few romantic areas, perhaps, or Alator, for example, in the original, was a witches 'familiar' type character and less independent. The latter I found myself thinking he was entirely different and less endearing. I craved more information about the characters as no depth was given, i.e. with the main character, I learnt in only one part that she had black hair & that was it. I felt they needed more detail. This definitely needs more books in the series. I liked the separate narrator view style of writing. especially.
