The Forgotten Nativity: A Historically Honest Christmas Story

What if the first Christmas looked entirely different than you were taught?

The Nativity story may be the most familiar and most misunderstood story in the Bible. We all know the story by heart. Or at least we think we do.

Centuries of mistranslation of Luke 2:7 and misunderstandings, along with Christmas art, Nativity sets, pageants, and storybooks, have shaped the pictures in our minds, adding details to and leaving details out of the accounts in Matthew and Luke.

The Forgotten Nativity: A Historically Honest Christmas Story is a dramatized audiobook experience rooted in the Gospel accounts of Matthew and Luke and informed by biblical scholarship and historical research.

Hear Maryam, Yosef, Gavrel, and the shepherds come to life through multiple character voices, immersive sound, and the everyday sounds of the world around them. Young shepherds and a midwife enter the story as Jesus is welcomed within the hospitality of a first-century, one-room home. Aramaic names and historically informed details invite children to imagine the birth of Jesus not as a fairy tale, but as a real event involving real people in a real place.

Created for ages 5–10 and their families, this audiobook invites kids to listen closely, wonder deeply, and experience the Christmas story with honest imagination.
