Protection in Paradise

With an imminent mayoral election, her vindictive ex a candidate, and an arsonist on the loose, Eve Maguire's profession as chief of police in Paradise Pines is her sole focus. That consummate kiss with an anonymous stranger was just her stirring libido. After her unfaithful ex, she has no desire to repeat her mistakes with a gifted, chemistry-generating flirt.

Shaye Hayden is back after two decades to make peace with her painful past, and cops caused that pain. She can't stand them. Her assigned office is next to the police chief's. Worse, Eve Maguire is that enticing Lady Luck stranger she kissed. When Shaye witnesses another arson and needs full-time protection, the only practical solution is to move in with Eve.

They have nothing in common except good reasons for distrust . . . and a flawless kiss that was obviously a huge mistake plus undeniable, potentially catastrophic chemistry. How are they going to manage living together?
