Chrildren's Prattle

At a lively gathering in a wealthy merchant’s home, a group of children reveal more than simple chatter—they reveal the values they’ve been taught.

Boasting of status, wealth, and influence, each child measures worth by what they believe defines success. A proud young girl claims that birth determines destiny. Another insists power lies in money. A third believes influence is everything. Their voices rise in confidence... until a quiet observer, standing just beyond the door, hears every word.

Years pass, and life delivers its answer.

In Children’s Prattle, Hans Christian Andersen offers a sharp yet gentle reflection on pride, class, and the illusions we inherit as children. With warmth and subtle irony, this timeless tale reminds us that true worth is not decided in drawing rooms—but proven over time.

Narrated with clarity and restraint by Tony J. Martin, this classic story captures the quiet truths hidden within childhood words.
