For King and Country: Soldier of the Queen Book 6

Duty calls, danger awaits

September, 1905: Captain Roberts has returned to England, feeling uncertain of his future after the exploits of Fort Farafra. Recently married and on the cusp of fatherhood, he hopes to revert to a career with the regular army. Instead, his life takes a perilous turn when he is assigned as a bodyguard to a British diplomat at the high-stakes Algeciras Conference. Here, amidst the ebb and flow of challenging negotiations, he quickly discovers that the arena of diplomacy can be just as treacherous as the battlefield.

As political tensions mount and whispers of sabotage circle like vultures, Captain Roberts finds himself thrust into an even more dangerous mission. Commanding the newly formed Suez Defence Force, he is sent with engineers to construct a critical fort in the Gulf of Aqaba - a task fraught with risk and unforeseen challenges. Bound by duty and the honour of serving his king and country, he must face enemies both known and hidden, all while maintaining the integrity of his mission and the loyalty of his men.

Join Captain Roberts on a gripping journey that intertwines courage, sacrifice, and the complexity of loyalty as he faces a world where every decision could mean the difference between destruction and survival. In ‘For King and Country,’ experience the emotional tumult of a man torn between the call of duty and the bonds of family, as he learns that true bravery lies not only in battle but in the choices that define his legacy.
