The New Testament in Light of the Bible's Grand Storyline
In The Story Retold, G. K. Beale and Benjamin L. Gladd explore the New Testament in light of the broad history of redemption, emphasizing the biblical-theological themes of each New Testament book. Their distinctive approach helps listeners make sense of the New Testament in light of the Old Testament.
The authors provide listeners with a deeper, more cohesive understanding of the biblical narrative, emphasizing the continuity between the two Testaments. The New Testament is not a standalone narrative but a retelling of the grand story of redemption that begins with Israel and finds its culmination in Christ.
By examining the New Testament through the lens of the Old Testament, this book invites listeners to gain a richer, theologically grounded understanding of the New Testament, not as a new story but as a story retold.
