The Star Mouse: A Mouse’s Journey Beyond Earth

Mitkey is an ordinary house mouse living unnoticed in the home of a brilliant but eccentric refugee scientist. When the professor completes a crude but functional rocket, Mitkey is chosen as its sole passenger, launched into space with no understanding of the danger or the importance of the mission.

What begins as a small scientific gamble turns into a cosmic encounter no one could predict. As Mitkey travels far beyond Earth, unseen forces intervene, revealing an astonishing truth about intelligence, civilization, and the fragile line between greatness and simplicity.

Fredric Brown was a master of short science fiction, known for his sharp wit, compact storytelling, and startling ideas. He excelled at taking familiar concepts and twisting them into something quietly profound, often within only a few pages.

His stories frequently blended humor with deep philosophical questions, making him one of the most distinctive voices in classic science fiction. “The Star Mouse” is a perfect example of Brown’s ability to explore big ideas through deceptively small characters.
