Satan Bible: The History of The Devil

The Devil is not a Christian invention. All the most ancient cultures have elaborated antagonistic figures compared to positive divinities. Esther Neumann started from the millenary pagan cults to get to draw a complete portrait of the Prince of Darkness, crossing the dark centuries of the Middle Ages up to the contemporary period.

From the testimonies of the sacred books of the three monotheisms to the great treatises written by medieval inquisitors, from the evil atmospheres of the witches' sabbath to the many fires that characterized Renaissance Europe, then passing through the secret rites to make the deal with the Devil of the modern period up to the most recent reinterpretations of the concept of Evil itself. The Prince of Darkness has always been among us, never giving up his role as a tempting demon.
