Summer Begins

Twelve-year-old cousins Hillary, Phoebe, Neeve, and Kate Callahan are spending the summer together at their grandmother’s beach house on Gull Island. Hillary, whose parents are in the midst of a divorce, is really glad to be in a familiar setting with friendly faces.

And she has big plans for the summer. Hillary has always heard stories about the Callahan-Bicket family rivalry. She wants her cousins to take on the Bickets once again—and prove that the Callahans are the best family on the island! All she has to do is convince timid Kate, scholarly Phoebe, and outrageous Neeve to go along with her plan.

Fans of the American Girl™ books will love these spunky cousins. Elizabeth Doyle Carey’s novel has been favorably compared to such classics as the Nancy Drew books and the Bobsey Twins stories.

“Callahan Cousins: Summer Begins is a refreshing and charming story with timeless themes and characters.”—Family Education Network
