Brave Highlander

A wounded warrior. A defiant lady. And a traitor who could destroy Scotland from within.

Lachlan MacLeod, known across the Highlands as the Wolf of Skye, has built his reputation on loyalty, discipline, and ruthless skill in battle. Fiercely devoted to Robert the Bruce and feared by enemies across Scotland, Lachlan has never retreated from a fight. But after the disastrous Battle of Falkirk leaves him gravely wounded, he is forced from the battlefield for the first time in his life. His orders are simple: return to Dunvegan Castle to heal ... and escort the king’s niece safely to Skye.

Lachlan expects a sheltered noblewoman in need of protection. Instead, he finds Lady Isobel Bruce. Sharp-witted, politically astute, and weary of being used as a pawn in Scotland’s endless power struggles, Isobel refuses to quietly obey the legendary Highland warrior assigned to guard her. She has spent her life watching powerful men barter alliances and sacrifice women for ambition, and she refuses to surrender her freedom—even to the infamous Wolf of Skye.

But danger follows them to the Highlands.

As whispers of treachery spread through Scotland and evidence reveals a traitor hiding among the Bruce’s closest allies, Lachlan and Isobel are drawn into a deadly game of loyalty, deception, and survival. Forced into close quarters within the windswept walls of Dunvegan Castle, their uneasy alliance soon sparks into a passion neither expected. Because the closer Lachlan grows to the fiercely independent woman under his protection, the more impossible it becomes to keep his heart guarded.

Now, with enemies closing in and Scotland standing at the edge of ruin, Lachlan MacLeod must decide how much he is willing to sacrifice for king and country. For to save the woman who challenges him at every turn, the Wolf of Skye may have to risk everything—including his honor, his future, and his heart.
