When He was asked for a sign, Jesus gave only one: three days and three nights in the heart of the earth (Matthew 12:39–40). He said “three days” before “three nights.” Was He buried while it was still day? Christians have puzzled over the count since the early church, and it has rarely been worked out in full. This book walks through every passage that sets the timeline. On a flight or a long drive, count the hours yourself, passage by passage.
“For just as Jonah was in the belly of the great fish for three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights” (Matthew 12:40).
