About this audiobook

Psychologist Ellie Nightingale is haunted by the kidnapping of her baby daughter twenty-three years ago. Years of trying unsuccessfully to conceive another child have left her with a fierce desire to adopt - an obsession that is driving a wedge between her and her husband....

Former equestrienne Kate Sutton's hopes for both show-jumping stardom and a family are shattered in a fateful fall from a horse. Yet the miscarriage also brings her an abandoned infant she and her husband claim as their own daughter. Then she reads the headlines about the kidnapped baby and the young mother who lost her, and faces the soul-wrenching decision of her life....

Skyler Sutton is a young champion for whom no hurdle is ever too high - until she's challenged by her seemingly impossible love for Tony Salvatore, a tough-talking New York mounted policeman. Too soon for anyone's good, she is pregnant. And Tony knows a woman therapist who wants a baby more than anything in the world....

About the author

Eileen Goudge was born July 4, 1950 and grew up in the San Francisco bay area. She began writing at the age of eight. At eighteen, she dropped out of college, ran off with a man dodging the draft, and got married. Two years later, she was divorced, with a baby, and had to go on welfare. She decided to become a professional writer, started writing non-stop and managed to sell a few articles. In the early eighties, she was chosen to help launch a new line of teen romances, which became the successful Sweet Valley High series. She now had enough money to end another bad marriage and move to New York City with her two children. She continued to write the Sweet Valley High titles while working on a novel. Her first novel, Garden of Lies, was sold in 1986 to Viking for nearly one million dollars. Since then, she has written over thirty novels for young adults and over ten works of women's fiction. Her other works include Thorns of Truth, The Diary, and Once in a Blue Moon. Her title The Diary is a New York Times bestseller. Sandra Burr is one of Brilliance Audio's most popular narrators, having read hundreds of titles, both fiction and non-fiction. Her performance of Jean M. Auel's Earth's Children® series, including The Clan of the Cave Bear, is still ranked among the company's all-time bestsellers. She also directs for Brilliance Audio.
