When Jock hears a duck squawking very early in the morning from the pond in the park near his home, he goes to look. But it isn't a duck squawking – it's a man with a duck whistle and he's a hunter. Can Jock save the little duck he's caught before it's too late?

James Moloney is one of Australia’s best-known writers for children and young adults (A Bridge to Wiseman’s Cove, Dougy, Kill the Possum). He grew up in Brisbane, coming of age in the 1970s during the period when the Country Party (later the National Party) government of Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen dominated Queensland politics. It was a time of unrest and frustration for young people who could see the dawning of social and political freedom elsewhere. This experience inspired the writing of The Tower Mill, his first novel for adult readers.

Rebecca Macauley is an award-winning narrator. She has appeared in various television series, including international hit Neighbours and Australian drama Blue Heelers. Her work includes the US feature film Darkness Falls and the children's television series Wicked Science. Rebecca has previously narrated Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta and Ursula Dubosarsky's Abyssinia.
