In every generation, followers of Jesus face a constant temptation—the belief that life consists in the abundance of possessions. But Jesus, with unmatched clarity, declared just the opposite. This book explores what it means to live wisely with money in a world that worships wealth. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus from Luke 12 and expanded through parables and Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, it offers a gospel-centered lens for understanding stewardship, generosity, and trust. This is not a book about financial techniques or quick-fix budgeting. It’s a book about spiritual formation—how money shapes the heart, and how Christ reshapes our hearts through grace. May it inspire you to trade earthly treasure for eternal wealth.
Dr. Juliet Tennison is a Christian author, ordained chaplain counselor, educator, and registered nurse whose life and ministry have been shaped by a deep desire to help others encounter the transforming grace of Jesus Christ.
Born and raised in Kenya as one of eleven children, Juliet grew up in a home where faith, family, education, discipline, and hard work were woven into everyday life. Her journey eventually brought her to the United States, where she pursued higher education and built a career in nursing. With more than twenty years of experience in critical and intensive care, she has had the privilege of serving people and families during some of life's most vulnerable moments. Those experiences have strengthened her conviction that truth is most powerful when it is accompanied by compassion and grace.
Juliet holds a bachelor's degree in education with studies in theology and psychology and a PhD in Divinity. Together with her husband, Dr. Alfred Tennison, she has served in Christian ministry and counseling, encouraging individuals and families in faith, spiritual growth, and practical Christian living.
Her understanding of grace has also been shaped through the realities of her own life. Seasons of hardship, loss, family challenges, spiritual growth, and surrender have taught her that the Christian life is not sustained by human strength or religious performance but by the finished work of Jesus Christ. Her study of Paul's Letter to the Ephesians became the foundation for Authentic Grace, a book born from the conviction that believers are called to live not in pursuit of God's acceptance, but from the security of already being loved, redeemed, forgiven, and accepted in Christ.
Juliet and Alfred have shared more than three decades of marriage and are blessed with children and grandchildren. She treasures faith, family, service, teaching, and the opportunity to encourage others through the lessons God has entrusted to her.
Above every title or accomplishment, however, Juliet desires to be known simply as a woman whose life belongs to Jesus Christ. Her hope for Authentic Grace is not that readers will be impressed by her story, but that through it they will encounter the Savior who has been faithful in every chapter.
Her message is simple: Grace is not something we earn. Grace is what we receive in Christ—and then learn to live.
