For being slated as a smutty romance, it's 1 hour of uninspired vaguely scifi backstory, and about 2 minutes of actual smut. The smut itself is supposed to be alien: I was expecting like tentacles or chewbacca, abduction, humanoids a few feet taller or a few feet shorter than a person, but the smut is essentially two regular humans. And yes, the profession of one is a cowboy and the other is not technically human. Somehow they were able to make the attention-grabbing premise "COWBOY BONES ALIEN!" into something really vanilla. All of this was made more bizarre by the uncanny AI narration. That's what the most alien part of all this was, it's a human voice but it definitely hasn't hit the nuance and you can easily tell it's not an actual person saying the words. Creepy. Like an aural version of the animatronic hall of presidents.
