Brett Bouchard has two years and ten months of sobriety and a torn ACL. Hockey was the one thing holding him together.

Penny Zannis is a physical therapist with fifteen years of training, no job, no flat, and an ex who made sure her references would sink her.

He has a spare room. She has the only free treatment slot in Calgary. The arrangement writes itself: her hands for his rent, entirely professional, and strictly temporary.
