About this audiobook
A faithful donkey. A difficult journey. A timeless lesson in kindness.
Told in his own voice, Neddy recounts a life shaped by both human compassion and human cruelty. His earliest days are filled with sunshine, freedom, and the gentle affection of his young mistress, Annie. Under her patient care, he learns to trust, work, and understand the bond that can grow between people and animals.
But Neddy’s life changes when he falls into the hands of careless and sometimes brutal masters. Forced to work beyond his strength and separated from those who once loved him, he must rely on patience, loyalty, and courage as he endures hardship and longs for the possibility of finding his way home.
Along the way, Neddy also reflects honestly on his own youthful stubbornness and mistakes, discovering that good character requires humility, forgiveness, and the willingness to learn.
Warm, moving, and gently instructive, Neddy: The Autobiography of a Donkey is a classic children’s animal tale that encourages empathy, responsible treatment of animals, and kindness toward those who cannot speak for themselves.
Narrated by Paul Landergan, this heartfelt story offers an engaging listening experience for families, classrooms, and lovers of timeless animal fiction.
