Энэ аудио номын тухай
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada was one of the most influential spiritual teachers of the twentieth century and the founder of the worldwide Hare Krishna movement. Scholar, author, translator, and missionary, he carried the ancient teachings of Gaudiya Vaishnavism from India to the West and inspired a global spiritual revival that continues to affect millions of people today.
Born Abhay Charan De in Calcutta in 1896, Prabhupada grew up during a period of profound political and cultural change in India. In 1922 he met his spiritual master, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, who urged him to spread the teachings of Krishna consciousness in the English-speaking world. After decades of preparation, study, and writing, he journeyed alone to the United States in 1965 at the age of sixty-nine, arriving with little money but a clear spiritual mission.
This biography traces Prabhupada's remarkable journey from colonial India to global spiritual leadership. Drawing upon letters, lectures, memoirs, historical records, and eyewitness accounts, it explores his life, teachings, struggles, achievements, and enduring legacy. Few spiritual leaders have so successfully carried an ancient tradition across cultural boundaries, making Bhaktivedanta Swami one of the most significant religious figures of the modern era.
