Perhaps she’ll get a bat or a griffin, or— Oh. She can only afford the mystery pet: a plain white egg.

She watches and waits for it to hatch.

Sniveling Snails! This audiobook is perfect for story time. Kate Coventry is a lively narrator with an animated voice. Evelyn Witch decides to get a pet, but all she can afford is a mystery pet. Faced with an egg that does not hatch, the impatient witch tries out many spells to get the pet of her dreams. In the end she realizes that she will just have to wait for the egg to hatch on it's own. I love the moral of the story about being patient. But the best part is the humor!
