Sirach (Ecclesiasticus): A Complete Modern English Translation with Commentary of the Deuterocanonical Biblical Wisdom Book

Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) is one of the most powerful and enduring works of biblical wisdom literature ever written.

Attributed to Ben Sira, this ancient deuterocanonical book stands alongside Proverbs and Ecclesiastes as a profound guide to moral strength, disciplined speech, humility, leadership, family honor, and the fear of the Lord.

Yet many modern editions are incomplete, outdated in language, or difficult to read.

This volume presents a complete modern English translation, faithful to the original text while rendered in clear and dignified prose. The translation preserves theological depth and literary weight without archaic confusion.

Included is a substantial commentary that illuminates the spiritual, ethical, and symbolic dimensions of Sirach—helping readers understand its relevance in a world still marked by pride, injustice, and moral uncertainty.

Within these pages you will discover:

• Ancient biblical wisdom on integrity and responsibility

• Teachings on speech, self-control, and humility

• Counsel on family, authority, and education

• Reflections on divine justice, mercy, and covenant

Whether you approach Sirach as sacred Scripture, historical theology, or timeless moral philosophy, this edition offers clarity, authority, and depth.

A definitive modern presentation of one of the most important books of the Biblical Apocrypha and Deuterocanonical tradition.
