Valerie Lawrence is a slave to her job. As a socially awkward, geeky app developer, she’s been strong-armed by her therapist into taking a summer-long vacation away from work.
Valerie, however, has absolutely no intention of playing along. Instead, she finds a loophole: she rents the guest house of a villa on a small Mediterranean island, as far away from New York as she can get, so she can have access to her beloved Wi-Fi and work in peace and secrecy. Or at least, that’s the plan. But as we all know, fate has a mind of its own.
Max Baker is an international rock star whose music breaks hearts and whose lifestyle keeps the tabloids buzzing, maybe a little too much. After wrapping up his latest tour, he decides to hole up at his family’s villa in Panarea to blow off some steam and start working on his next album. And he’s not exactly going solo; he’s bringing his entire, rowdy crew of friends, bandmates, and groupies along for the ride.
He has no idea that his new neighbor has very different plans, and she has zero intention of putting up with him, his entourage, or their damn chaos.
Between the bickering, the plotting, and the music, Valerie and Max are about to learn just how thin the line is between hate, attraction, and love.
