About this audiobook

One girl. Two betrayals. A love that sees beyond chains.

In AD 634 Samarkand, where merchant caravans traverse deadly deserts and cultures collide in bustling bazaars, Saina lives as property, a slave girl haunted by her father's rejection. She has learned to bury her pain in work, transforming a neglected garden into beauty while serving her mistress Bao Li with unwavering loyalty. When a stillborn baby and false accusations of murder shatter the trust between them, Saina loses the only stability she has known. Then she meets Narisaf, a young man bearing scars from his mother's brutal murder, who recognizes in Saina what she cannot see in herself. As Bao Li wrestles with her own forbidden love and barren womb, the mysterious Weaver of Merv threads his wisdom into broken lives, and Saina stands at a crossroads. Will she accept Narisaf's unconditional love, or will the wounds of abandonment prove too deep to heal?

The first book in Anna C. Snyder’s Silk Road Series, this sweeping historical romance blends rich cultural detail with profound emotional depth. If you enjoy character-driven stories of resilience, slow-burn romance, and the transformative power of love, Saina’s journey will stay with you long after the final page.
