A costumed killer. A dog trainer with a knack for catching bad guys. Can she unmask the truth before her loved ones pay the price?
September Day has hit her limit. Recovering from the shock of learning her birth parents' identity, the self-doubting PTSD survivor strives to focus on her fiancé, his children, and upcoming Halloween festivities. But when her best friend's cat runs off into a pumpkin patch, the thirty-year-old animal behaviorist and her four-pawed companion give chase ... only to discover a dead body.
Unwilling to abandon the traumatized boy she spots fleeing the scene, September tries to protect her mental health by turning the witness over to the police. But when law enforcement discovers another victim, the emotionally scarred adoptee is horrified to learn her bestie is the primary suspect and her own dark bloodline might be involved.
When lies disguise facts, can September and her German Shepherd service dog Shadow expose the murderer's ultimate goal?
