Thank you Tor Books and Macmillan Audio for the free gifts! This story was absolutely exquisite—one of those rare books that manages to be everything all at once: epic, emotional, romantic, and utterly breathtaking. It had everything I love in a story—rich worldbuilding, high-stakes action, deep emotion, and writing that feels like it could split your heart in two. Every twist, every revelation, every line of prose hit perfectly. I was completely in awe of how Alix E. Harrow wove the threads of time, love, and legend together into something so intricate and moving. The characters were phenomenal—complex, flawed, and unforgettable—and the pacing and dual POVs kept me completely hooked. The audiobook narrators, Moira Quirk and Sid Sagar, brought the story to life beautifully. Their performances added so much depth and nuance to each scene that I’m genuinely glad I chose to listen instead of read first. Still, this is absolutely a story I’ll be revisiting in print, because I know there are layers I want to savor all over again. The Everlasting is perfection—bold, heartbreaking, and timeless. It’s the kind of book that leaves you breathless and aching to start back at page one.

Y’all, this was my very first read by Alix E Harrow and I was left speechless when I finished. This book took me completely by surprise. There were so many points in this audiobook that had me going completely still and not being able to do anything but listen, I was so enthralled by it. Moira Quirk and Sid Sagar were absolutely phenomenal. You know how you get those narrators who fit a story so well and you can envision the characters attached to them perfectly from their voice alone? That was them. They had me feeling every single emotion and boy were there a lot of them. To put it simply? This is a story of a scholar who falls in love with a lady knight and travel through time together. However, it is SO much more than that and also shows us how much a narrative can shape people’s perception. Told in second person, this story swept me away. I honestly can’t remember that last book I read that was in second person but trust me that while it might take a minute to adjust to it, it’s beautifully written and gives us such an intimate connection to Una and Owen. And the yearning? My gods the yearning in this one had me aching along with these characters. I’m afraid to say any more in fear of spoiling anything, but needless to say, this is a book I will always think about. Go into this one blind, you won’t regret it. Thank you so much to Macmillan audio for an ALC 💕

I definately think that if I wasn't listening to the audiobook of this I would have experienced a little bit of mental burnout because it's essentially the same story over and over and over again with slight variations. The narrators keep you so engaged during this story despite the first half feeling very repetitive. I actually go to a point and was like did my audiobook mess up; didn't I just read this? That was very much my moment of realizing OH ITS A TIMELOOP BOOK. I was really excited to hear Moira Quirks voice for the narration; they always do such a fantastic job. And her co narrator Sid Sagar did a great job too. They really gave all the characters so much depth and emotion. When my headset battery started beeping I was so sad to have to pause the story to let it charge. There was one thing I did absolutely loathe about the audiobook though. That was when they said Una's true name. It's "blurbed" out in a sense so the reader can never know what it is, which is FINE BUT they use this sound effect on top of it and it was a jumpscare every single time. The first time my heart was racing so fast because I didn't know it was going to happen. This book follows Una Everlasting and Owen Mallory. Una is a legend in this universe and her stories are told centuries after she is gone. But her stories are distorted truths and what truly happened no one no longer remembers. Owen is an ex soldier and a scholar who is a little obsessed with her and her history. He finds himself getting thrown into the past, tasked with helping Una back onto her bath and telling her story. He was more than happy to do, until he realized the cost. And that it keeps happening OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Surely, they can find a way to change Una's fate and end the evil that is using her to obtain what they want.
