The Measureless

Each of us will reach the place where success doesn't quite cut it anymore, when even our most certainties are starting to splinter and the questions we pushed aside for years begin to make their unwelcome appearance. The Measureless takes a path through the wilderness of those questions: not to a land of glib answers, but a land of integrity, navigating the birth of the universe, the ache of our suffering, our journey toward God, science's finitude, the toll of conscience, and the quiet that results when everything else falls still. It’s not a book asking to be read or ratified, but to be encountered and confronted-and, with time, perhaps even engaged. And yes, that may involve putting on a pair of running shoes to exit the starting line of our evasions. For it might be that out on the border between what is known to us and what will always remain unknowable is precisely where we will find ourselves and the One standing there.
