This book presents Acharya Prashant’s exposition of Kabir Saheb’s bhajan “Bhule Man Samajh Ke Laad Ladaniya.” Here, he points out that the problem of life does not lie in some lack within it; the problem is that we have burdened ourselves with much that we mistake for support—our relationships, dreams, achievements, plans for the future, and even superficial remedies such as gemstones, meditation techniques, healing practices, and retreats. Often, the mind that sets out to unburden itself returns carrying an even heavier load. This book does not offer a new method or remedy. Instead, it leads one towards inner clarity. Acharya Prashant explains that one must inevitably remain in relationship with the world. The real question, however, is this: Is that relationship making you lighter or weighing you down further? Is it helping undo an old knot, or tying a new one? Is it bringing clarity, or merely adding another habit, another support, another dependency? This book does not advocate renouncing the world; it is an invitation to establish a right relationship with it. Lightness is not something that can be acquired from outside. It comes naturally when the mind is able to see the many supports in whose name it has been burdening itself.
