ModeFlip puts your phone on silent or vibrate automatically — at night, at work, in meetings or in the car — and when the mode ends it unmutes and puts back only the settings it changed. A silent mode scheduler, a Do Not Disturb schedule and calendar-based auto silent in one app.
READY-MADE MODES
• Sleep, Work, Meeting, Driving, Sport and Focus are ready to use; add your own (up to 40) or duplicate one.
• No flowcharts or macros: choose when a mode starts and what it changes.
• ModeFlip's Do Not Disturb always lets alarms through, and alarm volume is never set to zero.
WHEN A MODE STARTS
• By hand: in the app, from a Quick Settings tile or a home-screen widget.
• Schedule: start and end times on the days you choose, overnight included.
• Calendar: during busy events, optionally only those whose title contains your word.
• Bluetooth device: while your car kit, headphones or another paired device is connected.
• Charging: while the phone is charging, or while it is not.
WHAT CHANGES
• Ringer: ring, vibrate or silent — separate from Do Not Disturb.
• Do Not Disturb that lets alarms and media through, optionally starred callers too.
• Media, ring, notification and alarm volume; brightness, screen timeout and auto-rotate.
• Android 15 and later: grayscale, dim wallpaper, dark theme and always-on display off, as a system Mode.
• On start: play or pause media, read a short text aloud, switch the flashlight, set a wallpaper, or show a notification that opens an app with one tap.
PUTS BACK ONLY WHAT IT CHANGED
• ModeFlip saves each setting's previous value before changing it, so it can restore it even after the app was closed.
• If you change a setting by hand during a mode, your value stays.
• Modes higher in your list win for each setting; when one ends, the next active mode takes over or your saved values return.
• "Stop and restore" ends every mode at once and pauses automation.
CHECK BEFORE YOU RELY ON IT
• The Health screen shows missing access, the next scheduled check and monitoring status for each mode.
• Export your modes to a file and import them on another phone. Nine languages, light and dark theme.
WHAT MODEFLIP CANNOT DO
• It cannot switch Wi-Fi, mobile data, hotspot, airplane mode, battery saver, Bluetooth, Location or NFC on or off — Android does not allow apps to. ModeFlip opens the system panel instead.
• Grayscale, dim wallpaper, dark theme and turning off the always-on display need Android 15 or later.
• It restores only the settings it changed and still owns. If you uninstall it or withdraw its access while a mode is active, it cannot restore them; use "Stop and restore" first.
• Charging triggers need a visible monitoring notification; after a restart it starts again when you open the app.
• Exact timing needs "Alarms and reminders" access; without it Android may delay a schedule.
• Android does not let apps read your current wallpaper, so you choose the image to return to.
• Reading aloud needs an offline voice for the app's language.
• Apps cannot be opened from the background; you tap a notification instead.
• Phones differ: some link ring and notification volume, some stop background apps. ModeFlip cannot guarantee it keeps running on every phone.
• No Wi-Fi network, place (GPS) or app-opened trigger in this version.
PERMISSIONS (asked only when a mode needs them)
• Calendar (read-only), Nearby devices, Do Not Disturb access, Modify system settings, Alarms and reminders and Notifications: each only for the triggers and actions that use it.
