Flipper Extra is a digital watch face with a split-flap clock in a square-cornered vintage instrument panel, two gauges whose scale slides behind a fixed index, four rows of odometer drums and the temperature.
WHAT IT SHOWS
- Hours and minutes on two split-flap cards
- Weekday, day of the month and month
- Two gauges: step goal, battery or chance of rain
- Four drum rows: heart rate, steps, battery, notifications, chance of rain or UV index
- Current temperature on drums, with a weather icon
THE CLOCK
The hours and minutes sit on two flip cards at the top centre, with the hinge gap running through them. Above them, the weekday sits on a plate, the day number on a red inlay and the month on its own plaque.
THE GAUGES
Below the clock, two long gauges work like the date disc of a classic watch: the scale moves, the pointer stays still. The printed 0-100 scale slides behind a fixed red index as the value changes, and rolls away into shade at both ends of its window, as if wound on a drum. A small square glass cursor sits over the index and magnifies a fine row of numbers printed for every single unit, so the exact value reads through the lens. The battery gauge shows a red zone below 20.
THE DRUMS
Either side of the clock, four readings turn on number drums like an old odometer: heart rate and steps on the left, unread notifications and chance of rain on the right by default. The unused drums show a faint zero. At the bottom, the current temperature turns on its own drums, with a weather icon beside it: sun, moon, or either behind cloud, by day or by night.
THE LOOK
The whole panel is built in layers like real hardware: a ribbed wrinkle-finish fascia with a window cut for every gauge and drum, each window cut at two corners on the same angle and edged in polished metal trim, real shadows inside every window, screws holding the plate down, and the flip cards and date plate standing proud of it all.
Always-on shows the flip clock and the date alone, dimmed.
SETTINGS
Theme: Ivory and Brass, Aviator, Field Olive, Navy and Copper, or Racing Green. Each one changes the whole panel together - fascia, metal trim, gauge scales, cards, drums and print.
Top gauge and bottom gauge: step goal, battery or chance of rain.
Left and right drums, top and bottom: heart rate, steps, battery, notifications, chance of rain or UV index.
Temperature units: follow your phone, Celsius or Fahrenheit.
Time format follows your watch's own 12/24-hour setting; the weekday and month follow its language. Weather readings need weather on your watch; until it arrives they show dashes.
