MRK01 Solar Support

MRK01 Solar Support is the support and fitness companion application for MRK01 Watch Face (https://play.viewpro.live/store/apps/details?id=it.mmnz.mrk01 ), a Wear OS watch face focused on solar, daylight, weather, and personal fitness information.

The support app runs on the user’s Wear OS watch and provides the data and services required by MRK01 Watch Face and its complications. It manages location permission, solar calculations and cache, weather data, background refresh, diagnostics, and fitness monitoring using Wear OS Health Services.

MRK01 Solar Support also provides a Fitness screen where users can directly view their latest available heart rate and daily step count on their own Wear OS watch.

MRK01 Watch Face provides user-selectable complications that can display:

• Sunrise and sunset
• Day length
• Solar elevation and daylight progression
• Weather information
• Heart rate
• Step count

Fitness and Wear OS Health Services

MRK01 Solar Support provides fitness information using Wear OS Health Services passive monitoring.

The Fitness screen directly displays the user’s latest available heart rate and daily step count. The same locally processed fitness data is also used to provide the Heart Rate and Steps complications available in MRK01 Watch Face.

The Heart Rate feature allows users to view their heart rate directly in the Fitness screen and, optionally, at a glance through the Heart Rate complication on their watch face.

The READ_HEART_RATE permission is required to obtain heart rate measurements through Wear OS Health Services and provide the Heart Rate feature.

The ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION permission is required to access the user’s daily step count on Wear OS. It is used to provide the daily step count displayed in the Fitness screen and the Steps complication.

Background Fitness Monitoring

MRK01 Solar Support uses Wear OS Health Services passive monitoring so that fitness information can remain available when the support application is not in the foreground.

READ_HEALTH_DATA_IN_BACKGROUND is required for this passive background fitness monitoring. It allows the latest available heart rate and step information to be received and used to keep the Fitness screen and corresponding watch-face complications up to date.

This allows users to access their latest available fitness information without keeping the support application open.

Local Data Processing

Heart rate and step data are processed and stored locally on the user’s Wear OS watch for the Fitness screen and watch-face complications.

MRK01 Solar Support does not upload, transmit, sell, or share heart rate or step data with external servers or third parties. Fitness data is not used for advertising, user profiling, medical diagnosis, treatment, exercise recommendations, or other secondary purposes.
