This was added by the latest update to DirecTV and not something I was given a choice on. Hopefully they give us an option to disable it like you can on most smartphones if not this may be a reason to cancel service with DirecTV.

Didn’t expect to like an “ambient TV” experience this much, but Glance AI on TV is genuinely fun. It turns idle time into a quick stream of interesting, good-looking content, and the navigation is simple with the remote. I like that it feels lightweight—more like a living screensaver you can interact with—rather than another heavy app. Works smoothly on my DIRECTV setup. Would love more personalization controls, but overall it’s a great addition.
