Kaalshodh is an analog watch face for the Hindu day. The sun is the hour hand and the crescent moon is the minute hand, and around them the dial reads the panchang: today's tithi, the running choghadiya, and the time in ghati and pal, counted from sunrise.
ON THE DIAL
• The tithi, with the month and paksha above it.
• The choghadiya now running, with a mark that shows whether it is auspicious.
• Hindu time in ghati and pal, beside the ghatika bowl.
• A rim that fills through the Hindu day: gold from sunrise to sunset, blue through the night.
• The eight prahars named around the dial, shifting with the season as the days lengthen and shorten.
• The date.
MAKE IT YOURS
• Eight dials: night sky, the original artwork, day, Akashganga, sandhya, classic, panchang paper and black.
• Rim: the Hindu day, or the day's choghadiyas coloured by quality.
• Hands: sun and moon, or simple.
• The name and the prahar names in English or Devanagari, or hidden.
• A dark always-on display that is easy on the battery.
WORKS WITH THE HINDU CALENDAR APP
The tithi, choghadiya and Hindu time come from the free Hindu Calendar app on your watch. Install it from the Play Store on your watch; until then those places on the dial stay empty. The readings appear in the language you chose in Hindu Calendar.
