AR Ruler is a camera tool for room measurement. Point the phone at a floor or a wall, mark the corners, and a full room measurement — length, width, height, area and perimeter — is calculated in centimetres, metres, millimetres, inches, feet or yards, with no tape measure in sight.
🏠 Room measurement without a tape measure
Room measurement usually means two people, a tape measure and a notebook. AR Ruler does it alone. The camera detects the flat surface in front of it, so every wall becomes a working surface on screen, and each height measure is calculated from the floor the tool has recognised. Mark a point, move to the next, and the plan builds up as you walk, with nobody holding the far end of a tape measure.
↔️ Length, distance and height measure
Linear mode gives a straight reading between two points, the job an ordinary tape measure does. Distance mode calculates from the camera to a fixed point on the detected surface, which is what you need when the far wall is out of reach. A height measure returns ceiling height, window height or shelf height, and a second height measure on the same wall confirms it before you order anything. Angle mode checks whether a corner is square, so a wardrobe fits the space it was bought for.
🧮 Area, square feet and volume
Trace the outline of a floor and area and perimeter are calculated together, so the room measurement is ready before you order tiles, laminate, carpet or paint. Volume mode calculates wardrobes, boxes and appliances, which answers the other half of every room measurement question: will it fit, and how much material is needed. One walk around the flat replaces a page of pencil notes and a tape measure that never stays where you left it.
🔢 Units, conversion and accuracy
Every figure converts between centimetres, metres, millimetres, inches, feet and yards without a separate calculator, and square feet convert to square metres on the same screen. A height measure taken today and one taken last week hold the same decimal place, so a room measurement can be compared, corrected and reused instead of repeated.
📐 From room measurement to floor plan
Room Planner converts the points you took into a room plan and exports the floor plan to PDF for a carpenter, a painter or a landlord. Path scan returns the length of a route on a photo. The on-screen ruler covers parts small enough to rest on the display, and photo measurement gives a height measure or a width from a saved shot, so a room measurement made last week is still usable without a tape measure in hand.
